Hemant Sharma, MD
Hemant Sharma, MD, MHS, is the Chief of the Division of Allergy and Immunology at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC. He is a Professor of Pediatrics at George Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. Sharma also serves as the Co-Director of the Clinician Well-being Program at Children’s National. He has spoken nationally on health worker well-being and conducts research on solutions to bolster the health and well-being of our nation’s healers.
At Children's National, Dr. Sharma started and directs the Food Allergy Program, which is unique in its focus on children from under-resourced communities and the psychosocial aspects of food allergy management. He also served as Site Director for the National Institutes of Health Allergy and Immunology Fellowship Program, and is deeply committed to trainee and patient education. His main areas of clinical and research interest include health disparities and community-based management of food allergy.
